Impact Statement

Our Impact: Creating Homes, Stability and Opportunity.

Collaboration for greater impact

At Auxilium Community Housing CIC, we believe that everyone deserves the right home, the right support and the opportunity to build an independent future. We exist to bridge the gap for people whose needs are often too complex for traditional housing pathways yet who do not require institutional care. Through trauma-informed, Housing First-aligned support, we help individuals move from homelessness and instability towards safety, independence and community participation.

Why We Exist

Across Sussex, too many people experience repeated homelessness because existing systems are not designed to respond to the full complexity of their lives. Many people face multiple disadvantages including mental ill health, substance use, trauma, domestic abuse, care experience, involvement with the criminal justice system, or social exclusion. Housing alone is often not enough.

Auxilium was established to provide a different response: one that combines appropriate housing with meaningful, relationship-based support to create lasting change.

The Difference We Make

Individual Impact

We support people to achieve:

  • Safe and stable accommodation.
  • Improved mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Reduced risk of homelessness.
  • Greater independence and life skills.
  • Increased engagement with education, training and employment.
  • Stronger community connections.
  • Sustainable move-on into long-term accommodation.

Our success is measured not simply by how many people we house, but by how many people maintain their tenancy, improve their quality of life and successfully move forward.

Our Impact

Community Impact

Our work helps people reconnect with their communities and become active contributors rather than remaining excluded from society.

Through volunteering, employment opportunities, personal development and community participation, we support residents to build meaningful lives and positive local connections.

Economic Impact

As a Community Interest Company, any surplus generated is reinvested directly into our social mission.

Our work creates local employment opportunities, supports ethical supply chains and reduces the financial pressures associated with homelessness and housing instability. By helping people sustain accommodation and avoid repeated service interventions, we contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.

System Impact

Auxilium’s approach reduces demand on overstretched public services.

By preventing homelessness, supporting hospital discharge, reducing placement breakdowns and helping residents sustain accommodation, we aim to reduce pressure on:

  • Emergency accommodation services
  • Local authority homelessness teams
  • Health services
  • Social care systems
  • Criminal justice services

Our model demonstrates that investing in the right housing and support at the right time delivers better outcomes for individuals whilst reducing wider societal costs.

Everything we do follows a simple pathway:

Right Home → Relationship → Stability → Development → Independence → Community

By combining safe accommodation with trusted relationships and person-centred support, we help individuals build the foundations needed for long-term independence and successful integration into their communities.
